A "(30)ct Flat" means you get 30 individual plants in one tray. These are "plug" sized plants. Each root ball is about 2 inches wide and 3 to 4 inches deep.
You are right about the planting! Since the roots are small, you only need to dig a small hole. It is very easy to plant many of them quickly. This is perfect for "mass planting" to cover a large area.

Location: It needs partial to full shade. It should stay out of the hot afternoon sun.

Soil Conditions: This plant loves rich soil with lots of organic matter. It prefers soil that stays very moist or even wet. It does not like to dry out.

Water: Keep it well-watered. It is a great choice for a "bog" garden or a damp spot near water.
The dark chocolate leaves look amazing next to green plants. In late summer, it grows bright orange flowers.
