Pineapple lilies generally do not need pruning during the growing season, unless yellow leaves or stems need to be removed. Plants will enter winter dormancy, even in warm areas, this is the time to remove dead and dying foliage. Do not cut back too soon, this may weaken the bulb and resulting in fewer flowers. Only cut back eucomis when the leaves are completely yellow to ensure a bulb with good energy and flowering power the following year.
