Some of our plants are in containers, some are bare roots, and some are available in containers or bare roots. Nepeta 'Cat's Pajamas' is sold both ways and this specific product page is for bare root.
Bare root means that the plant has not been potted; instead, plants are field grown for 1 to 3 years, harvested and the soil is removed by washing from their roots. If field grown plants were to be potted, they would typically require 1 gallon or larger containers.
