Hi,
An excellent question, and the answer depends on what you are looking for.
There are 37 species of Heuchera in the family Saxifragaceae including native varieties Heuchera americana, micrantha, sanguinea, and villosa. To create a new generation of heucheras, plant breeders worked primarily with these native species, that cross together well, to produce hundreds of Heuchera cultivars.
If you are looking for “old fashion” native Heuchera americana, Heuchera americana Dale's Variety may be the closest to the native variety available in the marketplace.
Thanks for asking,
