Chrysogonum virginianum (kris-OG-oh-num vir-jin-ee-AN-um) is easily grown in Zones 5 through 9 in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Prefers moist, acidic, organically rich soils in sun-dappled part shade.
Depending on your zone and conditions, a layer of mulch helps the soil hold moisture and reduces the number of weeds. However, too much mulch may slow the spread of green-and-gold plants, as the stolons are less likely to come in contact with soil.
